摘要:激活转录因子3(Activating Transcription Factor 3, ATF3)是碱性亮氨酸拉链蛋白家族中ATF/CREB亚家族的成员之一。作为一个应激早期快速反应基因,ATF3 可被一系列损伤性应激信号快速诱导表达,进而在基因转录、机体稳态维持、创伤愈合、细胞黏附、肿瘤形成、凋亡以及信号传导等生理和病理过程发挥重要作用。ATF3 在肿瘤中的表达及功能具有多样性的特点。在食管癌中,我们最近的研究表明,ATF3可能是一种肿瘤抑制基因。

Activating transcription factor 3 and its roles in tumor progression

Abstract: Activating Transcription Factor 3 (ATF3) is a leucine zipper-containing protein that belongs to the activating transcription factor/cAMP responsive element binding protein (ATF/CREB) family. It is an adaptive-response gene that participates in cellular processes to adapt 25 to extra- and/or intracellular changes, where it transduces signals from various receptors to activate or repress gene expression. Moreover, the role of ATF3 in the regulation of the cell cycle and apoptosis has important implications for understanding susceptibility to and progression of several cancers. Finally, our recent studies in esophageal cancer revealed that ATF3 might be a tumor suppressor.
